Across the EUniverse – Number Four
A Beautiful Mind has passed Across the Universe. Adieau John Nash, who died in May this year. We are aware that we are late in writing about him, but where he is now “time is not a priority”. He was an economist and our publication is about Law, but his Theory of Play can be applicable to all negotiations in relation to Directives, Regulations, Decisions and so on. This Fourth Number of Across the EUniverse is dedicated to him, a Visionary Scientist, a Genius of the Economy and of Life.
Maybe John Nash could be capable of understanding where the EU is going in relation to Railways: it’s difficult sometimes to follow through years and years of tortious negotiations, shifts to the left, shifts to the right and package after package. In this Number we analyse the Fourth Package and the Shareholders Rights Directive.
Maybe that Beautiful Mind could be capable of knowing whether Serbia will join the European Union one day, or whether the internal market will become a space where people and goods circulate without any obstacle or whether national law regulating specific fields will give preference to domestic goods and loval citizens. This idea was indeed a vision of the Fathers of the EU late in the Fifties.
Finally, we come back to the present and we look at the state of play of the sanctions imposed by the EU on products and people originating in Russia.
