Patrizio Bernardo has over thirty years of experience advising international groups and domestic companies across all industries, with particular focus on logistics, manufacturing, staffing, financial services, fashion, and luxury sectors, in the areas of employment law, trade union law, and social security.
He deals with drafting complex employment agreements for executives, handling disciplinary proceedings, employment-related privacy matters, post-contractual non-compete agreements, individual and collective dismissals, secondments, incentive plans (including MBOs and variable remuneration schemes), and matters concerning company directors. He is also experienced in drafting and negotiating settlement agreements upon termination of employment, industrial relations and collective bargaining, as well as drafting and negotiating outsourcing agreements. His expertise further includes social safety nets and workplace health and safety.
He provides advice on all employment law aspects of corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, demergers, and business transfers, carrying out labour law due diligence and advising on employment-related implications arising from extraordinary transactions, including within complex insolvency proceedings.
He also advises on agency agreements, assisting both in their negotiation and drafting, as well as in managing any related litigation.
He represents Italian and international employers before Labour Courts throughout Italy, including the Supreme Court (Corte di Cassazione), on a wide range of employment matters, including workplace health and safety, occupational diseases, workplace accidents, and proceedings pursuant to Article 28 of Law no. 300/1970 concerning anti-union conduct.
Since 2024, he has been an adjunct lecturer for the course “Labour Law and Industrial Relations” at the School of Economics and Political Science, Department of Economics and Management “Marco Fanno” (DSEA), University of Padua.
He regularly participates as a speaker and lecturer in numerous conferences and seminars on employment law.
