    Expertise

    Giulio Uras, Counsel, advises and assists on data and new technologies law and, in particular, on personal data protection, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and digital services, to national and multinational companies and groups of companies operating mainly in the tech, gaming, automotive, telecommunications, financial services, pharmaceutical and medical devices sectors.

    His work primarily aims to ensure the compliance of processes, activities, services and products with European and national regulations governing the digital sector: from the GDPR to the ePrivacy Directive, from NIS2 to the Cyber Resilience Act, from the Data Act to the Digital Services Act, through to the Artificial Intelligence Act and the national legislation on artificial intelligence.

    He also deals with the preparation and implementation of organisation, management and control models under Italian Legislative Decree No. 231/2001 (corporate criminal liability) and with internal investigations and is a member of several supervisory bodies. He provides regulatory advice to pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers.

    In 2014, Giulio interned at the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce in New York. After joining ADVANT Nctm, he worked, in 2015, at Snam’s Legal and Corporate Affairs Department and, in 2017, at DOC Generici’s Legal & Compliance Department as part of two secondment programmes. From 2018 to 2020, he was Global Compliance Manager at Pirelli & C. S.p.A., where he dealt with the compliance of the Pirelli Group’s companies worldwide with data protection legislation.

    He is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and certified CIPP/E. 

    He is the author of numerous publications in specialised journals and, in collaboration with professional associations and in-house counsel, promotes initiatives and events focused on the digital sector, and regularly speaks at industry conferences.
